FAQs for Co3G Shooters
Refunds
We understand that "Life Happens". For the months of February and March, a full refund can be issued, minus a $20 credit card processing fee. April and May, a 50% refund will be issued. Starting June 1st, no refunds will be issued. Up until 1 week prior to the match, you can give your slot to someone else with no transfer fee. If you are an Active Duty or Reserve military member, and can provide a copy of your orders, we will refund your entire match (minus the $20 credit card fee) all the way through June.
Schedule:
To Be Determined
Awards Ceremony will be immediately after afternoon squads complete their shooting. We'll have a better idea after day 1 is complete, but estimate around 6:30pm.
Sight in location:
This year we are trying to secure a sight in location. It'll be posted once announced.
Ammo Restrictions:
Absolutely positively NO steel cased, steel projectile, bimetal, steel tipped, green tip, M855, SS109, etc. ammo. That's birdshot, slug, pistol, or rifle. These damage targets, and cause sparks when they impact steel targets or rocks on the range. Colorado routinely has wildfires in the summer, and I don't want you to be liable for starting a wildfire.
Shotgun shell requirements: No larger than 2 3/4". No more powerful than 3 1/4 dram. No more than 1 1/8oz. No steel shot.
Ammo Shipment:
You are welcome to ship the ammo to the gun club before the match so you don't have to carry it on the plane. Put your name in big bold letters on the side of the box and write 3 Gun on it please! The address is as follows:
Pikes Peak Gun Club
Attn: SoCo 3 Gun
450 Franceville Coalmine Road
Colorado Springs, CO 80929
Stage Diagrams:
You'll also be receiving a PDF stage booklet in your email.
Shooters Booklets:
Shooters booklets will be provided, with stage diagrams, on Friday, via email. It will be a PDF document that you'll be more than welcome to print out, or open on your ipad, or other tablet device.
You will be sent a preliminary match book before the week of the match.
Camping:
The club states that reservations are not necessary. They've had enough call in that they decided to accept reservations for camp sites if you'd like to. Call: (719) 683-4420 to reserve a spot. Spots are free. Spots with electrical are $10 a night. 70 slots available.
TENTS ARE ALLOWED
Transport to and from the campsite:
The campsite is about 1/4 mile from the range and is on range property. You're welcome to drive yourself down and back on your personal ATVs, golf carts, etc. But you MUST follow the 10mph posted speed limit. The road is too soft for bicycles.
2016 Target Info: (for your reference of expectations for 2017)
If you shoot perfectly, and have no misses, you'll be at around 100rds per firearm and 7 slugs. I'm recommending bringing 200 per firearm and 20-30 slugs. There are lots of optional shots, so the 200 will help account for that if you're a heavy pistol, rifle, or shotgun shooter, and if you have any reshoots!
Here's the important stuff:
No slung rifle
Smallest rifle targets: 4MOA
Shotgun only stage: Stage 8 is a natural terrain shotgun only gully run. There will be aerials, kickers, spinners, and steel. You're looking at between 30 and 50 rounds of bird shot, depending on how well you shoot! Invictus Practical has 3 24 round vests for you to borrow on the day of the match!
